Salon Loyalty Program Ideas That Bring Clients Back
Loyalty programs for salons and spas: points, tiers, memberships, packages, referrals and wallet credit, and how to pick the right mix.
A loyalty program has one job: give a client a reason to book the next visit before they think about a competitor. The best ones are simple enough to explain in a sentence at the front desk.
Points on every bill
Clients earn points for every unit of currency they spend (for example one point per 100) and redeem them as a discount. It is easy to run and easy to understand. Keep the earning rate generous at the start so the first reward arrives within a few visits.
Tiers for your best clients
Silver, Gold and Platinum levels that unlock small perks, such as a free add-on, priority booking or an early look at new services. Tiers reward the clients who already spend most, so keep the top tier genuinely rare.
Memberships
A monthly or yearly fee that gives a fixed benefit, such as a set number of services or a discount on everything. Memberships bring in cash up front and make the next booking almost automatic.
Packages
Sell a bundle, for example six facials at a lower per-visit price. The client pays now and comes back six times. Track the balance so the front desk can see how many sessions remain.
Wallet credit and gift cards
Prepaid balances make rebooking frictionless and gift cards bring in new clients. Show the balance at checkout so clients feel the value.
Referrals
Reward both sides: the existing client and the friend. A referral from a happy client is the cheapest new customer you will get.
Games and surprises
A spin wheel or a raffle at checkout adds a moment of fun. Use it for small prizes and keep the rules honest and visible.
Picking a mix
Start with two. A common pairing is points for everyone plus packages for your core services. Add tiers or memberships once you can see what your regulars actually buy.
Running it without a spreadsheet
The hard part is the bookkeeping: balances, expiry, redemptions and who qualifies for what. SalonOS handles loyalty points and tiers, memberships, packages, wallets, gift cards, referrals, a spin wheel and raffles in one client profile, redeemable at checkout. See retention features or pricing.
